Airports

Airports are significant users of power, operating 24*7 with variable power needs.

Many airports are also facing emission reduction targets, which are not easy to achieve, without significant disruption to passenger and air traffic as well as financial investment.

Biofuel is the perfect alternative to fossil fuels to reduce the significant carbon emissions of new and existing airports, in the following ways:

1) Construction – use of biofuel to replace all diesel used for earth moving equipment, off grid generators, lighting and cooling.
2) Airport ground vehicles – all diesel baggage handlers, passenger transport buses and associated vehicles can use biodiesel instead of harmful fossil diesel.
3) Stand power – direct power transfer to all aeroplanes whilst on stand or at gates can be provided by generators running on biodiesel as opposed to standard fossil diesel.
4) Staff transport – all crew transferring from overnight or permanent accommodation using airport shuttle buses, can be ran on biodiesel as opposed to traditional fossil diesel.

As one of the hardest industries to decarbonise, switching to a Net Zero operating supply for all ground operations, is a great way to start.
